In this post, were going to break down what you need to do if you recently received a waitlist offer from UT Austin, and what else you need to do to close out your college admissions experience strong. What they didnt have that year, or for many years prior, though, was a waitlist. However, that year is a little confusing.

Based on the admissions at Harvard from 2010 to 2015, legacy applicants were admitted at a rate of 33% , higher than the overall acceptance rate of 6%. Breaking it down further, 1,275 students were admitted through Regular and Early Action, while nine were offered spots from the waitlist. This resulted in a 4.5% acceptance rate.

On this day, youll be notified whether youve been accepted, denied, or waitlisted into your chosen school or schools. Its a respectful thing to do, and it helps those schools manage their waitlists. The admissions process is highly competitive, and even top students get rejected despite high GPAs or perfect ACT/SAT scores.

Psychology/Sociology: The MCAT was revised in 2015 to include content knowledge from the humanities. To do so requires a bit of a balancing act and thoughtful planning of your coursework. It’s neither required nor recommended for applicants to take the SAT or ACT. Among the class of 2024, 41 percent submitted SAT scores and 36 percent submitted ACT scores. Maintaining a highly competitive GPA is certainly a factor for admission, as is choosing a curriculum that demonstrates intellectual-rigor and a love of learning.
