All undergraduate students at Vanderbilt are required to live on campus — including transfers — and Greek life places a huge role. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Vanderbilt is an equally hot ticket for transfer students ( so it helps to, well, have help ). ESSAYS Vanderbilt doesn’t have a transfer-specific application.

If you’re thinking about transferring to Smith, keep in mind that it is competitive. Over the last few years, their first-year admit rate has nearly halved, going from 31% in 2021 to 19% in 2023. For transfers, the admit rate is similarly competitive, with an acceptance rate of 20.5% for transfers last cycle.

There are a lot of myths about transferring colleges. Going from “good enough for now” to your dream school isn’t as easy as a semester or two of straight A’s, and that’s even more true if your dream school is one of the best schools in the country. There were only 34 transfer students in 2019.

Transferring to Barnard is challenging – it’s essentially an Ivy League school, but the stats are promising. In 2023, the acceptance rate for first-year students was 6.5%, and for transfers it was 24.8%. If you want to transfer to Barnard, you need to have excellent grades and scores, robust extracurriculars, and great essays.
