You’re still being considered for Harvard, but you can also apply to “ any institution under any plan ,” which includes binding programs like Early Decision II. Applying to another college ED II is a big decision, so don’t rush into it. After you receive a deferral from Harvard, your options are wide open.

As anyone hoping to begin college in fall 2021 is likely aware, all schools with an early application program released their early acceptance decisions within the past few weeks.

At the time of publication, six schools have published data about their early applicant pool and acceptance rates: Brown University released its admissions information for the Class of 2027 on December 21: 879 early decision students were accepted, out of an applicant pool of 6,770 (10% more early applicants than last year).

The following year, it plummeted to 61%, rebounding with a rate of 73% for the class of 2025. Last year, Amherst College's yield was 39%.

GU-Q’s admissions process is separate from the main undergraduate admissions process with its own application form. Also, unlike the main campus, GU-Q’s admissions process is test-flexible. There are no early decision options for these programs. Decisions for the joint degree program are not made until April.

Yale University saw its early action applications to the Class of 2027 increase by a more modest 6 percent to 7,777 applicants.
