Applicants to the Class of 2029 will need to submit an SAT or ACT score although there are some exceptions for those unable to take these exams. Transfer students may still take advantage of a test-optional policy. The regular decision acceptance rate was 3.8%, slightly higher than recent years due to a smaller applicant pool.

Decisions for transfer students have not yet been released and waitlist decisions will be released once admitted students accept or decline their offers. BROWN’S CHANGING ADMISSIONS POLICIES Brown University announced in early March that it would once again require students applying for fall 2025 admission to submit either a SAT or ACT score. Brown followed the lead of Dartmouth College and Yale University who will also require standardized test scores , effective for the Class of 2029.
