To support your test prep, we offer academictutoring, test prep training for each academic subject, help studying for specific tests, SAT and ACT prep services, and homework and studying oversight. Extracurricular Activities for College Prep You already know that extracurricular activities help with college applications.
AcademicTutoring Our tutors offer customized tutoring designed to fit the needs of each student. Students with an interest in environmental policy and advocacy enjoy studying at UCSB’s Washington Center, where they can gain real work experience via political and NGO internships.
Extracurriculars In the US, extracurriculars are an important part of nearly every college application — but Northwestern takes them super seriously. These activities can include jobs, internships, and family responsibilities, so don’t get discouraged if your school doesn’t have a particular club.

That would help, but you should look at your giving, get involved in the alumni association, or help students get internships in your field.
We’ll detail all the premed requirements you’ll need to complete, discuss which extracurriculars are likely to help you stand out (and how to find them)—including volunteering, clinical, and shadowing opportunities. That said, the importance of extracurriculars cannot be overstated. Which extracurriculars should you focus on?
Many essay prompts will ask you to write about extracurricular experiences in your life or to list interests such as your favorite movies or music. I found that the same idea of change through simple solutions also rang true during my recent summer internship at Dr. Martin Warner’s lab at UCLA.
