This always makes us a bit, to use an SAT word, ~trepidacious~. This is more or less true at all schools, but especially at Ivy League schools. Score big Just like hiring academic tutors, legacy parents routinely work with top SAT and ACT tutors to ensure their students have a perfect or near-perfect standardized test score.

However, across the Ivy League, the highest legacy rate we have ever seen is 30%. Since we have never seen an Ivy League school accept more than 30% of legacies, that means at these top schools the majority of legacies don’t get in. Penn is super tight-lipped about legacy admissions numbers. What does this mean?
