Starting in fall 2024, Brown University will require students to submit SAT or ACT scores. The university also announced it will continue to offer an Early Decision option and maintain legacy preferences. Roughly half of Brown's recent entering classes have come in through Early Decision.

And if you’ve been rejected from Tufts in the Early Decision I round, you’re probably somewhere between stressed and heartbroken. At Tufts, most accepted students for the class of 2028 had an SAT-ERW 730-770 and an SAT-Math 750-790, or an ACT of 34 or 35. This is the best strategy for admission to a dream school.

If you applied to Vassar Early Decision, you were probably expecting to get in. The acceptance rate is high enough that strong students approach it with confidence, and since it’s Early Decision the admissions office at the college knows that you are a serious applicant. Aim for an ACT over 33 or a SAT over 1500.

Amherst receives nearly 14,000 applications for first-year admissions, and about 10% of those are submitted in the Early Decision round. At Amherst there are two potential outcomes for an Early Decision application: acceptance or deferral. This is because Amherst typically does not reject Early Decision applicants.

You applied to Wellesley Early Decision, and this wasn’t the plan. First, let’s talk about Wellesley Early Decision. The college offers Early Decision I (EDI) and Early Decision II (EDII) options. Very competitive scores for Wellesley are a 34+ on the ACT, or a 1520+ on the SAT.
