I recently attended a webinar in which both high school counselors and college admissions officers discussed the role of AP courses in college admissions. In keeping with USCs test-optional policy for SAT/ACT scores, if you choose to submit AP scores, USC will consider them and evaluate them in the context of your application.

You are not required by the CollegeBoard to take the AP exam (although your high school may have differing policies around this). The main incentive for taking the exam is the possibility of college credit. CollegeBoard has said that the AP exams will test content covered through early March.
