Days before the start of the school year, the Arkansas Department of Education announced AP African American Studies is no longer a state-approved course. A handful of high schools will offer the course as a local elective credit. However, because the ADE won't recognize the course, it won't fulfill that responsibility.
Although this year AP tests were “non-traditional”, many colleges have said that they will still award APcredit ( see this list by Prompt ). AP scores will be available online beginning July 15. Additionally, your college may use these scores for placement purposes.
