If you applied to Vassar Early Decision, you were probably expecting to get in. The acceptance rate is high enough that strong students approach it with confidence, and since it’s Early Decision the admissions office at the college knows that you are a serious applicant. Aim for an ACT over 33 or a SAT over 1500.

You applied to Wellesley Early Decision, and this wasn’t the plan. First, let’s talk about Wellesley Early Decision. The college offers Early Decision I (EDI) and Early Decision II (EDII) options. Very competitive scores for Wellesley are a 34+ on the ACT, or a 1520+ on the SAT.

The Early Decision acceptance rate is much higher, closer to 17% , which encourages lots of people to apply ED. A massive number of the applicants admitted Early Decision basically knew that they would get in before submitting. This may be hard. It may even be impossible. Dartmouth says you can submit “brief updates.”
