“One of the beautiful things about the St. John’s program and its focus on the unchanging questions of mankind is that it changes very little.” There are approximately 40 United States institutions of higher education that offer some iteration of a “great books” program. St. John’s College is the mother of them all. It features a four-year, non-elective curriculum in which students read, discuss and write about the seminal works that have shaped the world.
