Have you ever thought about the reasons why some private schools experience enrollment growth and why others decline? School leaders primarily call me because they either want to make sure their school continues to grow (or even remain full), or they need to turnaround a flat or declining enrollment.
During the past several years, I have had the opportunity to partner with the team at Tree of Life Christian Schools in Columbus, OH. I have seen their explosive enrollment growth and outstanding work. How has your enrollment grown and how have you accommodated the additional students?
As you weigh your options, particularly between publicschool or private school, the decision becomes even more complicated as you factor in its potential impact on college admissions. Diversity: Publicschools tend to be more diverse, exposing students to a broader range of backgrounds and perspectives.
A quarter of schools and districts reported having one full-time enrollment professional on staff. Schools and districts with 600 or fewer students (11%) were the most likely to have zero enrollment professionals on staff. Charter schools (25%) were the most likely to report increased enrollment year-over-year.

But this year’s headlines have varying levels of impact on your day-to-day as a schoolenrollment leader (marketers, I’m talking to you too), so let’s tackle the trends that really got our attention in the last year. Journalists know that clicks and eyeballs pop when they cite certain schools, which are frequently diminutive outposts, rather than large signposts for the direction or state of enrollment or higher education.
