Aim for a competitive GPA by excelling in advanced placement (AP), honors, or dual-enrollment courses. Engage actively in their classes and seek out opportunities for mentorship.
The path you’ll take is, to some extent, determined by your major, your exam placement scores, and potentially whether you opt to engage in undergraduate research. However, your chemistry courses will likely depend on your scores on a placement exam. The biology, physics, and statistics courses you take will depend on your major.
Stanford School of Medicine students can continue to support this program through Cardinal Commitment Mentorship, where they are assigned to supervise undergraduate volunteers. Keep in mind that these are the most basic requirements for med school admissions. You do not have to be pre-med or Latinx to join.
While personal factors like your ethnicity, sexual orientation, and familial income are outside your control, you can demonstrate an appreciation for and commitment to serving diverse people through your coursework and extracurricular activities.
